About me

my name is michael

I went to wichita area technical college for drafting during my senior year of high school. I worked in aircraft for several years right after graduation. I always did small carpentry projects on the side for family and friends, which grew into their families and friends as well. after a layoff notice came to me and several hundred coworkers in 2003, I decided to turn the side hobby I loved into a career. I got a job at a small remodeling company in town. while working there I went to school through the associated general contractors for form, frame, and finish carpentry where I earned my completion certificate. while working in the field as a carpenter, the small company grew and so did my frustration with the way some projects were designed, I approached the boss about my desire to design and he eventually gave me a shot. I was allowed to design a deck for a customer. I was still a full time carpenter so I had to work on it after hours. When I showed the final design he asked how many hours I had in it. I told him only 2 or 3. I probably had closer to 10, but I wanted to be able to do more. I was given a few projects. I started taking classes through the national kitchen and bath association. these classes were never close to home. I had to travel all over the United states to take a class here, a workshop there. after earning enough credit hours, I was allowed to test. I earned my certificate as an associate kitchen and bath designer. I moved from splitting my time between a lead carpenter in the field and a designer in the office to the project development coordinator full time. from there I went to the sandler sales institute. I spent a few years in the office doing design, sales, estimating, scheduling, and project management. in 2017 I went out on my own, running my own remodeling company. I DO my best to bring all my education and years of experience together to improve your home the way you want it, while at the same time doing what I love, the way I know is right. This is a win/win situation for both of us.
